A Flying Start to the League Season!
We started strong, and the game was pretty even… until we won a short corner with five minutes left of the first half. Rachel stepped up and absolutely connected with it like a rocket, giving us the lead going into half-time.
Half-time wisdom from Coach Harvey
Our new coach Harvey kept the team talk short, sweet and slightly terrifying:
1 Play more aggressively.
2 Forwards — go for every ball and be more assertive.
3 Go for the rebound off the goalie.
Simple enough. Apparently, we listened.
⚡ Second-half goal frenzy
Within three minutes of the restart, Frankie scored her first goal for the club in her first league game. What a way to introduce yourself!
And because one wasn't enough, she went and scored another six minutes later.

We continued hassling the opposition, keeping the ball firmly camped in their attacking end — although they may have preferred it if we'd let them have it back occasionally.

At 51 minutes, Ali joined the party with her first goal, followed by her second just eight minutes later. At this point, we were beginning to wonder if someone had accidentally turned the difficulty setting down.

Frankie then completed her hat-trick, because apparently two goals on your league debut wasn't showing off quite enough.

We kept piling on the pressure, and Ollie produced an amazing backhanded tomahawk that found the net… only for Jack to disallow it.

Much to our annoyance.

Naturally, the only reasonable response was to attack even harder.

Frankie then grabbed her fourth goal, followed just two minutes later by Rachel's second, giving us a rather lovely final score of:

8–0
Not a bad way to kick off our first league game back!
Huge thanks to Champs
A massive thank you to Champs for stepping up, putting on the goalkeeper kit and having an absolutely amazing game. We couldn't have asked for better!
Player of the Match
This week's Player of the Match was very, very close between Rachel and Frankie. After much deliberation, nail-biting and probably a few arguments, Rachel was awarded Percy!
A fantastic team performance from start to finish.

Let's keep this going, keep the pressure on, and try not to give Jack too many reasons to disallow our goals next week.

Bring on next week!!
