The Club will once again have two Olympic surfaces available from this weekend.
The new surface on pitch 2 is identical to that used at the Tokyo Olympics whilst that on pitch 1 is the same as used in Paris.
Thank you to all of our members, visiting clubs and schools who have trained and played at replacement venues over the last few weeks whilst the new pitches have been installed and to those clubs who have agreed to reverse fixtures during this period of change.
Thank you also to our host venues, especially Chigwell School, for the use of their facilities and for enabling the work to be completed. Thank you too to the long suffering officials at East and EH who have helped record all the changes of fixtures.
A special thanks to Mainstream Fleet who have allowed us to use part of their site to store materials and equipment and to everyone involved in replacing the pitches which were installed during the 2011/2012 season in preparation for the London Olympics. That season we played all of our matches away.
This has been a huge undertaking for the Club and we all owe a huge debt to everyone at the Club (especially Simon Beckley and Jack Tranter) who has been involved in planning and managing the project and in helping to finance it.
Good luck to all our teams playing this weekend. Let’s christen pitch 2 with some great results.
