A tough result for Old Loughts, but plenty of positives to take from a hard-fought performance.

The game got off to an unfortunate start, with a penalty flick awarded to the opposition inside the first minute, which was converted to put us 1–0 down early on.

After a slow opening quarter, Old Loughts responded brilliantly. We came out with much more intensity, fighting hard and beginning to put the opposition under pressure. Despite the improved performance, we were unlucky to concede another goal before half-time, taking the score to 2–0.

A change of shirts at half-time brought a change of energy too! We came back out determined and continued to battle throughout the second half. Some strong attacking play saw us win a good number of short corners, creating chances and putting their defence under pressure.

The intensity of the game continued to rise, with the opposition picking up a few cards as Old Loughts kept pushing and fighting until the final whistle.

Unfortunately, we couldn’t find the goal our performance deserved, and the game finished 2–0.

Not the result we wanted, but a huge improvement after the opening quarter and plenty of fight shown across the pitch. Lots to take forward into the next one!

FULL TIME: 2–0
