Wow! What a game, in more ways than one.

I could almost describe it as the perfect game, in terms of standard of play on both sides, which was amazing. Despite all the terrific play, the score remained resolutely at 0-0, until less than a minute before the end, when we conceded a goal.

It was end to end stuff, with chances (I would say we had more) and good efforts on goal from both sides. Both keepers had excellent games though, hence the lack of goals. We possibly had the edge, overall, but a draw would have been a fair reflection.

As last week, everyone - a very different team make up this week - gave 100% in effort. The defence worked well together, and our mids helped, as requested, with man marking in the last quarter. (Havering had a couple of very skilful and speedy youngsters up front). Mids and forwards positioned well and had some great runs forward. The passing was good all round, especially as Havering gave us little time on the ball to get the pass away.

MoM votes were spread about but Aurora came out on top. Especially well done as she was playing as a mid, so not in her usual position.

Lara won DoD for the "twister", which was the name given to her rather intimate encounter on the ground with a Havering player. Such love!

The rather unfortunate event well into the second half - all a big misunderstanding which left my players and umpires at a loss to know what was going on - resulted in a lengthy break in play and hands becoming cold. A bit of a sad end to what had been a terrific game.
