Not too much to say about this one apart from that it wasn't a pretty game, but we ground out the win.
The lovely umpires struggled to keep the obstructions and stick tackles at bay so it did rather descend into untidy knots of play.
Admittedly, Waltham Forest were pretty fast and didn't give us a lot of time on the ball, but we were often stymied by a lack of strong umpiring and rarely got into our "better looking" team play of other weeks. Still, there were some good individual bits of play and lots of dogged determination from all our players (hence everyone got at least 1 vote for MoM), especially from Mel, Holly and Sienna. Jemimah was a close runner up for MoM, with her late wibbly-wobbly trademark goal, but out in front with 7 votes was Sienna, who was on fire this week and also scored our first goal.
I'd better not say too much about the choice language from one opposition player on pitch. The rest of the oppo were very nice. A few of us went to the pub for teas, which was chips, chips and more chips. Very nice chips I have to say, but a little accompaniment to mix things up would have been nice :)
