The girls' U16 Tier 1 squad continued to march on in the National England Hockey Tier 1 plate competition with a convincing 3-0 win away at Hertford. It didn't take them long to take control and they enjoyed most of the possession throughout the game. Goals from Anya and Jessica saw them go into half time 2-0 ahead. The second half saw an even better performance with Kayuki, Alice and Olivia keeping the defensive line solid. A special mention to our keeper Abi, keeping a clean sheet on her U16 debut. Some fast and skilful runs from Myla and Izzy down the wings kept Hertford firmly under pressure, and a well worked team move between Cressida and Hannah, followed by a blistering run from Agnes resulted in a clinical goal for Grace. A great result considering the squad was weakened due to various absences. This win puts them into the last 6 in the country which is in itself an incredible achievement. They have won their last 5 games scoring 15 goals, conceding only 1. Having already won their league, the girls go into next Sunday in a playoff against St Albans.
