Old Loughtonians W1s 6 - Havering W1s 0
Old Loughtonians Women’s 1s maintained top spot and their promotion challenge with an emphatic 6-0 win over Havering W1s at Luxborough Lane.
Loughts intensity from the start was excellent as they won a number of penalty corners within the first 10 minutes. The pressure was rewarded as a corner resulted in the opening goal as Venetia Bailey controlled the injection and dispatched a fierce drive into the bottom corner for her first of the campaign.
It was 2-0 midway through the half as player of the match Siobhan Daley drew the Havering keeper and found Katie Gleeson who was on hand to finish from close range. Daley then doubled Loughts advantage to four with a brace within 12 minutes. Finishing with style on both occasions to effectively end the game as a contest by half time. Emily Holmes then took her tally for the season to 10 scoring for the sixth consecutive game with a thunderous finish to make it 5-0. There was still time for Emily Davies to cap an outstanding display by driving into the circle and hitting an unstoppable reverse strike for the second week running to conclude the scoring.
Next week Old Loughts travel to Cambridge University for a critical top of the table clash. The W2s were away against Chelmsford 2s. Karena Myers equalised after Chelmsford went ahead but Loughts eventually lost 2-1. The W3s had a bye. The W4s lost 2-0 away against Southend 3s. The W5s won 2-0 against Havering 4s with goals from Isabella Read and Jen Hutson.

After a disappointing defeat against Bath Buccaneers last week it was vital that Loughts M1s turned up to the game against Old Cranleighan with fire in their bellies! Well they did that and some!.
From the moment the team stepped onto the pitch it was clear that they meant business. They scored within 2 minutes of the start. A fine run down the flank from captain Conor Caplan found Andy Macgregor who stabbed the ball into the net. However, Loughts failed to maintain their lead after a mistake at the back enabled Cranleighans to pass the ball into the goal to level the score.
Loughts were not to be outdone and in the 25th minute Harvey Edwards scored a fine backhand goal from the top of the circle. Cranleighans played with a lot of passion and the game was frenetic and combative for long spells with both teams receiving both green and yellow cards for what the umpires perceived as punishable offences.
In the third quarter, man of the match Ed Fleet converted a short corner to provide the daylight Loughts deserved. There was the odd scare in the final quarter and Loughts' keeper Jack Tranter, made one especially fine save low to his right. Loughts were worthy winners of this game and hopefully they will now kick on to the form that they found in the first half of the season. The M2s dominated against Cambridge City 2s but ended up drawing 2-2. The M3s lost 1-4 to Broxbourne 1s. The M4s won 1-0 against Witham 2s. The M5s Willows had a good 6-2 win against Witham 3s but the M6s Willows Woodsmen lost 1-5 to Waltham Forest 3s and the M7s Willows Rangers lost 2-0 against Old Southendians 5s.
