Old Loughtonians Lades 1s made the long trip to North Norfolk to face second placed Norwich City on Saturday and were very unlucky not to have something to show for their considerable efforts.
Loughts started at pace and dominated the opening exchanges with Chloe Menear striking the post from a penalty corner within the first 5 minutes.
Norwich took the lead against the run of play after 16 minutes with their first venture into Loughts territory when they pounced on a loose ball in the circle.
Undeterred Loughts continued to press and found the Norwich keeper in fine form as she made multiple saves to prevent an equaliser. Katie Gleeson went closest with a half volley that went just wide of the post.
Unfortunately it was not to be for Loughts as Norwich defended resolutely to close out the game and take all three points.

It was a good day for the other Loughts teams with all the other ladies sides winning and some great results for the men. The L2s won 7-0 against Witham 1s and remain second in the division, the L3s secured a 2-0 win against Southend & Benfleet 2s with both goals from Elis Halil to go third, the L4s won 5-1 against Waltham Forest 4s and remain second and the L5s demolished Old Southendians 4s 8-0 to stay third.

The M1s played a pre season friendly against Southgate and drew 1-1 with Ed Fleet scoring having beaten Wapping mid week. The M2s defeated 4th placed Upminster 1s by a resounding 7-1 and the M3s Foresters also in action away against Upminster won 3-0 against their 2s. The M4s Academy were pitted against Braintree 2s and won 1-0. The M5s Loppers and M6s Willows were both playing Redbridge & Ilford and won 4-3 and 6-1 against their 2nd and 3rd teams. The M7s Willows Woodsmen had a good 5-2 win against Witham Academy and the M8s Willows Rangers won 5-1 against Waltham Forest 4s. Sadly the M9s Axemen could not complete the good results losing 6-1 to Southend 3s and the Supervets lost 3-1 to St Albans Praetorians.

All in all another good weekend for the club and thanks to the Recorder for publishing the results.
