Old Loughtonians Ladies 1s gave an excellent account of themselves against the East Premier League leaders Bishops Stortford at Luxborough Lane on Saturday afternoon.
Stortford broke the deadlock halfway through the first half with a close range finish which gave them the advantage at the break.

Loughts continued to test the Stortford defence in the second half and were duly rewarded when captain Tash Patient finished a slick penalty corner routine to level the game at 1-1.
After Loughts had a possible second goal disallowed the game looked to be heading for a draw and a well deserved point for both teams.

However in a controversial final play of the game Stortford drove a cross into the Loughts D with the ball somehow finding its way into the Loughts net. After much deliberation by the umpires as to the origin of the decisive deflection a goal was awarded to win the game for Stortford. The final whistle followed.

Loughts L2s continued their good form with a 2-0 win against Basildon 2s with goals from Alannah Foskett and Georgia Dawes and remain second in the table. A depleted L3s played Romford 1s and after going 1-0 down levelled with a goal from Kim Donnelly but Romford went on to win 2-1. L3s stay in 4th. The L4s remain top of their division after a 6-1 win against Romford 2s and the L5s continued their good form with a 2-0 win against Southend and Benfleet4s.

The M2s, clean shaven after Movember saw them hirsute as a charitable initiative in aid of men’s wellbeing, continued their impressive form in South division 1 of the East Area league. Martyn Lear and Toby Gayler scored in a 2-0 win over Chelmsford 2s which leaves them 6 points clear of their nearest rivals.

The M3s Foresters won 3-1 against Braintree 1s to stay second. Edgar Padfield opened the scoring for the team and could have had a second shortly afterwards. It was 2-1 until late in the game when Braintree scored but Loughts went on to record a comfortable win. In the late game, M4s Academy welcomed local rivals Crostyx 3s with a 6-1 win, the M5s match away to Old Southendians 3s was postponed, the M6s Willows (in 1st) won 5-0 against Braintree 4s and M7s Willows Woodsmen (in 3rd in the same division) won 8-0 against Havering 4s but the M8s Willows Ramblers made the long trip to Old Southendians 6s only to lose 1-9.
The colts have been in action as well. Last weekend the u18 boys travelled away to Sevenoaks and, after being 2-0 down went on to win 4-2. The U16 girls were also playing and won 5-2 away at Harrow.
